Join a Committee!


Teacher Appreciation Committee

DESCRIPTION: At different times throughout the year, the PTO provides a lunch for the teachers to show them how much we love them!  If you sign up to be a part of this committee, you won’t have to commit to time at the school at all!  You will just be asked to SEND items to school (through your child or the carpool line!) to help with these lunches!  

TIME INVOLVED: This is a great committee for those who want to help but are unable to take time off to volunteer during the school day.  You sign up through a Sign-up Genius link and you never even have to get out of your car!

MAV Store Committee

DESCRIPTION: The MAV store is our school store that we usually offer on the last Thursday and Friday of each month.  Students can bring a dollar or two and purchase fun, seasonal items as a fundraiser for the PTO.

TIME INVOLVED: If you sign up to help with the MAV store, the committee chair will contact you once a month to see if you can be at the school from 6:50-7:30 in the morning on Thursday and/or Friday to help sell before school begins.  You DO NOT have to commit to being able to be there both mornings each month…just whenever you can help is great!

Special Events Committee

DESCRIPTION: Special events at MES include Boo Hoo Breakfast (for new kindergarten parents), Homecoming, our Veterans Day program, and Kindergarten Registration. You can sign up to help with any or all of these events - all help is appreciated!


The Boo Hoo Breakfast takes place early in the morning on the first two days of school, and it will involve bringing food items, helping set up and take down, and/or directing parents and making them feel comfortable dropping off their new kindergarten students! 

TIME INVOLVED: We will need a few parents to bring food items, or to help out for about 30 minutes early morning during the two breakfasts.

The Germantown High School Homecoming football game typically takes place in late September or early October, and MES usually takes part in a district-wide pep rally at the high school.

TIME INVOLVED: We will need volunteers to help paint the a sign the weekend before homecoming, and we'll need a few volunteers to help organize and/or send food for a school-wide tailgate at the pep rally. 

For Veterans Day, MES will have a special program to honor students' family who have served our country.  The program will be Wednesday, November 11 

TIME INVOLVED: This committee will help the chair with decorating/setting up for the event, and volunteering during the program as needed. This is a one-day event commitment!

Kindergarten Registration Day is a fun day at Mannsdale!  It will take place on a week day morning in early April.  Parents and upcoming Kindergarteners are invited to listen to a short program and visit Kindergarten classrooms while they register for school.

TIME INVOLVED: Committee volunteers will be needed to help take pictures, make copies, direct parents, sell t-shirts, etc. This is a one-morning commitment!

Yearbook Committee

DESCRIPTION: Members of this committee help with the layout of the yearbook.  They work with committee chairs and class photographers to get the required pictures of each class and help put the pictures into the pages online before the yearbook goes to print.

TIME INVOLVED: If you sign up for this committee, you could help by coming up to the school a day or two to take pictures, or just by helping with page layouts at home when it is time to put the pages together.

Spring into the Arts Committee

DESCRIPTION: Spring into the Arts is our newest fundraiser that takes place on a Friday in April.  The purpose of the whole night is to raise money to fund an art program for our school. 

TIME INVOLVED: There are different ways you can help on this committee.  We will need volunteers ahead of time to get donations for the Silent Auction, to help get Corporate Sponsors for the event, and to help run the event itself.  It is such a fun time, but requires a lot of help!
